St Moritz Hotel welcomes autumn to the table with their new gourmet dining experience

Food enthusiasts will be treated to a magical Cornish dining experience thanks to the launch of a gourmet experience from Head Chef at St Moritz Hotel, David Williams and renowned wine merchant Bibendum.  Sensational wines from around the world have been carefully selected to enhance each of the divine dishes on David’s five course seasonal tasting menu bursting with local flavours at St Moritz Hotel near Rock, Cornwall.

David Williams has a catalogue of Michelin-starred experience including time at Joel Robuchan’s Jamin in Paris, running Chapter One in London and Alimentum in Cambridge. He has meticulously high technical standards, but it is his passion for home cooked honest food that makes his menus so noteworthy. He champions local suppliers and believes in celebrating the flavours of each ingredient using classic techniques and combinations on the plate that marry beautifully making each dish a sensory and taste experience.

The seafood served at St Moritz Hotel is plucked from the clear waters off the Cornish coast by local fishermen using the most sustainable and traditional methods; the rabbits and hogget on this menu will have grazed on the rich fertile grasses, berries and sea sprayed flowers in the fields around the hotel, adding layers of distinct flavour to the finished dishes.

David Williams said: “Above all, the most important people are the people eating the food. I want whoever is coming to eat here at the St Moritz Hotel restaurant to leave happy.”

Bibendum is the exclusive suppliers of wine to St Moritz Hotel. Michael Harris, Head of the Fine Wine Department, and Debbie Warren, who joined Bibendum from Fifteen Cornwall a few months ago, will be introducing the wines to guests and spending the evening sharing their knowledge and expert insights for wine pairing.

St Moritz Hotel Restaurant Manager Giancarlo Marino said: “At £85 the menu is incredible value. For the price you would normally expect to pay for just food every guest will enjoy seafood canapés and English sparkling wine on arrival then five courses with matching wine followed by coffee and truffles. Numbers are limited for this unique event to ensure the evening feels personal. This is our inaugural Gourmet Evening and everyone is excited. We very much hope it will be the first of many special experiences.”

St Moritz Hotel has recently enjoyed rave reviews from celebrities and food critics and aficionados alike including Chris Evans and Neil Stuke. The hotel sits perfectly in the culinary sweet spot between Rock, Port Isaac, Polzeath and Padstow; a favourite among gourmet travellers and high end activity seekers on the staggeringly beautiful stretch of north Cornish coast.
