Uncle Sam has called up Cornish Orchards to supply the American military with their craft cider a their annual cider festival.

Uncle Sam has called up Cornish Orchards to supply the American military with their craft cider a their annual cider festival.

Cornish Orchards will be taking part in the annual cider festival at the US Air Force Base in Lakenheath, home to the 48th Fighter Wing, aka Liberty Wing.

The demand for craft products is rising in the UK, and in recent years the export market in Cornwall has also boomed with many foreign countries demanding Cornish produce. Cornish Orchards is no exception to this currently exporting its craft ciders and soft drinks to 15 countries from Europe, Scandinavia, South East Asia and Australasia.

'Calls are coming in from all over the world, with different countries looking to import our products,' saysVeronique Jones, Cornish Orchards Accounts and Export Officer. 'It’s fantastic to be able to represent the Cornish food and drink industry on the global stage.'

In recent years Cornish Orchards export has grown at a triple digit rate per year and this is set to continue in 2014/15 with the company already achieving last year’s figures with more than half of the year to trade.
