Q:Tell us a little about the service/product you offer for wedding couples?

We supply gift hampers which are a unique and fun way to display the food in the centre of the dining tables at the reception and could be themed as either a vintage tea party of summer picnic for example. They also make a great talking point for the guests who have often never met which helps break the ice! The hampers come in various styles and sizes from traditional wicker hampers and gift baskets to colourful jute bags which can have a personalised message printed them or a little wooden tag with the couples name or date of wedding.

QWhat makes you unique in the wedding market?

The unique presentation and the colours of our hampers can compliment the wedding colours and theme and also all of our produce and drink is made in Devon from small artisan producers.

Q:How does the process work when choosing a wedding menu?

We have an initial chat over the telephone to see if our hampers and products are the type of menu and idea the couple are looking, a booking is then made for the couple to come and meet us. At the first meeting the couple will be shown our range of hampers and products and discuss the style of menu they require and budget. We them put together a selection of ideas for the menu and if the couple are happy with an idea we will have another meeting to go through their choice in finer detail so we can interpret exactly what the couple are looking for.

Q:Are you able to cater for any size wedding?

We can cater for any size of wedding, although if the wedding was very large we might have to source a different hamper or product as they might not be available in the quantity required.

Q: What is the most unusual request you have had from a wedding couple?

I don’t recall if we have any particularly unusual request for a wedding as they are usually bespoke anyway.

Q:What is your number one tip for couples when deciding on their wedding menu?

Our number one tip for a wedding couple when deciding on their menu is choose what they like and not be influenced by friends and family and keep it simple, their guests are coming to see their happy day.

Q: Tell us a little about the service/product you offer for wedding couples? We are entirely bespoke and

basically offer couples their perfect wedding day food and have no “off the shelf menus at all”.

Q: What makes you unique in the wedding market?

The couples that we work with love food and want their wedding food to be an important part of their wedding

day. We offer couples the chance to create their own menus adding their personal touch, experiences and

favourite tastes to create their perfect feast. Everything is always seasonal and clients love the fact that I can

tell them exactly where things came from, even down to what breed of animal or which variety of vegetable.

Clients also love the fact that we do home smoking for fish which we catch ourselves, that goes down well.

Brides love it when I text them a couple of days before their wedding to ask them what type of wood they’d like

me to smoke their mackerel or pollock over. It’s a great talking point.

Q: How does the process work when choosing a wedding menu?

We set our couples foodie homework to

create us a list or story all about the foods they love, ingredients, flavours, food memories, holidays, childhood.

essentially all the food that is important to them individually and as a couple. Their wedding day menu is

created from this homework, it works really well. Once we have created menus we allow them to live with them

for a few days so they have time to make informed decisions and choices which may lead to tweaks and

changes to make it perfect. As a cook I love working in this way as I love food too and it would drain my

creativity to be cooking the same thing week in week out!

Q: Are you able to cater for any size wedding?

We cater for up to around 150 guests.

Q: What is the most unusual request you have had from a wedding couple?

All of my menus are unique,

so there’s nothing ‘usual’ here really. I did once allow the groom to plate the brides pudding and serve it to her

and another time someone came in the kitchen and asked us if we had a bed sheet!! Randomly – no we didn’t!

Q: What is your number one tip for couples when deciding on their wedding menu?

Two things. Create

a menu for you, to make you happy, it’s your day. Too many couples choose menus more for their guests than

for them. Secondly, don’t follow trends, follow what you love – it’s your wedding day! I remember my Mum

saying ‘well we had prawn cocktail for starter – it was all the rage in those days’ My Mum hates prawns!

Q: Tell us a little about the service/product you offer for wedding couples?

We pride ourselves on being really flexible and tailoring our service to suit each couple.  Our award winning

pies are of course central to our wedding offer, but we can bring so much more to the party (literally!), from

nibbles and sharing plates to late night snack tables.  Like our pies, the rest of the menu is about sourcing

from the best artisan producers as locally as we can to us here in Bristol.  We’re still the only national pie

brand to use 100% free range British meat and our vegetarian pies are Vegetarian Society Approved.

Q: What makes you unique in the wedding market?

Our award winning pies are pretty special!  We believe we offer a really delicious and stylish alternative to

many of the usual wedding menus out there.  Everyone loves a really good pie – they look fantastic served up

- whether on beautiful vintage china or ‘festival-style’ in one of our eco-takeaway boxes.  Basically, really good

pies make people smile at weddings, they’re the ultimate British celebration dish and they make people happy!

Q: How does the process work when choosing a wedding menu?

Couples can contact Faye here at Pieminister (on 0117 911 1503 or faye.salt@pieminister.co.uk) and she will

talk them through our full menu so they can pick and choose their favourite dishes to create their perfect

wedding feast.

Q: Are you able to cater for any size wedding?

We have 10 years experience catering for weddings and events of all sizes so yes, we’re delighted to cater for

all weddings, big and small!

Q: What is the most unusual request you have had from a wedding couple?

One of the first weddings we catered at was in the main hall at Smithfield Market in London.  It was a huge,

very grand affair.  Our pies looked superb and went down a storm with all the guests.  We’ve also catered in a

fair number of fields over the years!

Q: What is your number one tip for couples when deciding on their wedding menu?

Enjoy yourselves!  Planning your wedding day should be fun and exciting – we love working with couples to

make their wedding day as special as possible and try to do everything we can to make the process as fun as

we can.
