Falmouth's Merchants Manor Brasserie marks the start of oyster season with a special Oysters & Champagne evening

Falmouth's Merchants Manor Brasserie marks the start of oyster season with a special Oysters & Champagne evening.

The Manor has teamed up with Champagne House Laurent-Perrier and local Oysterman Chris Ranger to host a special Oysters & Champagne evening. The five-course dinning experience, which will include talks from the Champagne and oyster experts, will take place on Thursday 9th October - the first day of the celebrated Falmouth Oyster Festival.

Dishes will be accompanied by some of the finest sparkling available as Laurent-Perrier is pairing its world-renowned Champagnes with the dinner, making for an unforgettable experience.

Diners will be treated to an exquisite evening delving into the world of oysters. The popular delicacy will be served five different ways, including delicately set in a Laurent-Perrier Ultra Brut jelly with soused cucumber and caviar, as part of the five-course dinner. Melt-in-the-mouth 12-hour roast Aberdeen Angus grass-fed beef from Warren’s Butchers and gorgeous homemade macaroons also feature on the evening’s exclusive menu.

Dishes will be accompanied by some of the finest sparkling available as Laurent-Perrier is pairing its world-renowned Champagnes with the dinner, making for an unforgettable experience.

'Oysters are one of my favourite ingredients and we’re lucky to have some of the very best in the country, right on our doorstep,' says head chef Dale McIntosh. 'The dinner will feature a variety of oysters including the sweet flavoured Native Cornish Oyster, served in different ways. Champagne is of course the perfect complement to oysters so diners are in for a real treat.'

The evening will begin with short talks from Chris Ranger and Emma Russell from Laurent-Perrier on what to expect throughout the five-course affair.

'We’re really looking forward to celebrating the start of the oyster season and supporting the brilliant Falmouth Oyster Festival with this special event,' says Merchants Manor’s owner, Sioned Rudlin. 'We’re also delighted to have both Chris Ranger and Laurent-Perrier supporting it.

'Our special Brasserie events are always really popular and Dale’s creative dishes are the talk of the town afterwards, so we can’t wait to see everyone’s reaction to what we promise will be a fantastic evening.'
