Property of the Week - An exceptional setting, Windrushes, Treyarnon Bay

Windrushes occupies, without question, an exceptional Cornish setting with utterly breathtaking views across the golden sandy beach at Treyarnon Bay.
Bought from new in 1939 by the late Lady Vivian of Glynn and Truro, Windrushes is one of the four original large detached houses at Treyarnon Bay.
To be sold for the first time ever having been in the family since construction, it is a sensationally located detached 4/5 bedroomed coastal house.
From the driveway the house is entered centrally over a cut slate threshold which opens into a spacious T-shaped reception hall with exposed wooden floorboards. Doors open from here to the kitchen, dining room and a modernised ground floor shower room.
Upon entering the dining room the full impact of the propertys location is seen as there is a broad double glazed window facing out over the garden to the beach. The dining room opens up to the kitchen and a very broad archway creates an open-plan feel to the triple aspect sitting room.
The windows fill this space with light facing to the east, south and west as well as having a double glazed door to an open sided garden room.
The sitting room also has a recessed cut slate open fireplace with a recessed slate display alcove above.
The garden room creates a flowing inside-outside space with a slate floor, windows on two sides giving a view to the sea and a broad opening onto a slate terrace.
The kitchen is also positioned to enjoy the staggering outlook and is fitted with an extension to the worktops creating a breakfast table in front of a large window. A door opens from the rear of the kitchen to a back hall off which is a larder cupboard, a door to the front, a further WC and a multipurpose room with built-in bunk beds, a wardrobe, cabinets and a vanity area.
The staircase rises to the landing, which is galleried over the stairs. From here doors lead off to four bedrooms and a bathroom.
The bathroom is to the front of the house and is attractively tiled in a silvery blue.
The largest bedroom is above the sitting room and has a dual aspect outlook taking in the beach and sea.
This room has various built-in cabinets and a vanity area with a wash basin. In the centre of the three rooms across the rear of the house facing the views is a further double bedroom, again with built-in wardrobe and vanity area and the third bedroom at the rear also has a broad window, wardrobe and vanity cabinets.
The final bedroom is most intriguing as, due to its lengthy shape, it has had a double length captains bed built-in with storage below and two single beds end to end above.
From the driveway another external door opens into a separate wing of the house which is specifically designed for enjoying the beachside life.
The initial room has a tiled floor and large areas for storing beach equipment with a white tiled shower cubicle set to one side. A door opens from here to a utility room with a generous amount of space.
Treyarnon Bay is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a clean beach with numerous rock pools and sheltered small coves for sunbathing.
