St Ives

We reveal some of the best restaurants to visit and accommodation to stay in when visiting thepopular seaside destinationthis summer.

There’s plenty on offer in St Ives – surrounded by outstanding views of the bay, there is an abundance of opportunities for seaside dining, surfing and a comfortable night’s sleep, the only difficulty is trying to narrow it down!

Fine dining in St Ives

You don’t have to walk far to find a fantastic restaurant in St Ives as there are many scattered along the harbour front. Here are five of our favourite places to eat.

The Firehouse, Fore Street, 01736 799 664

Depending on where you sit, you can enjoy your supper overlooking the harbour or onto one of the bustling, cobbled streets of St Ives. Whether you fancy succulent rotisserie chicken, premium flame-grilled steaks or a local seafood dish, the Firehouse has a variety of delicious items on the menu to suit your taste and needs. There is a fantastic selection of wines to accompany your meal too.

The Hub, The Wharf, 01736 798 899

Well established on the harbour front, the Hub is a dog friendly bar and eatery with trendy vibes, laid back music and welcoming staff. There is a wide selection of tasty gourmet burgers to choose from and an extensive cocktail list to enjoy whilst you observe the scenic harbour.

The Rum & Crab Shack, The Wharf, 01736 796 353

The Rum & Crab Shack does exactly what it says on the tin. There is a vast menu of international rums to choose from, made by some of the best rum makers across the world. On the menu you’ll find the brilliant crab burger, lobster macaroni and moules mariniere, but if you don’t fancy fish then the jerk chicken is a tasty alternative.

Café Pasta and Pizzeria, The Wharf, 01736 798 899

With an Italian inspired menu, there is a selection of stone baked pizzas, fish and pasta dishes on the menu at Café Pasta. If you can squeeze in dessert, we think the dark chocolate and orange mousse is a very delicious way to finish off your meal.

Porthminster Beach Café, 01736 795 352

As a winner of the Cornwall Tourism Awards’ Restaurant of the Year’ in 2010, it may come as no surprise that you need to book in advance to eat at this beachside cafe – however it is well worth the wait. When the sun is out make sure you enjoy alfresco seafood dining on the terrace with uninterrupted views across St Ives bay.
