What do you get if you cross a feast of local food and drink with a scenic trail through the Cornish countryside? A food festival on the run!

On Saturday 21May, the inaugural Delicious Kernow Trail will give fun-loving foodies a chance to indulge their appetites while burning off some of the calories. Starting at the Camel Creek Adventure Park (formerly Cornwall’s Crealy) near Wadebridge, participants will eat and drink their way along a waymarked scenic trail, stopping at pubs, cafes, shops and restaurants to sample a mouth-watering variety of food and drink donated by local businesses.

The gastronomic trail will guide participants via The Saints’ Way and Camel Trail to Padstow, then follow the South West Coast Path to Trevone and Harlyn Bay before heading inland via St. Merryn to finish at Trevibban Mill Vineyard. Over a dozen different bitesize tasters will be served up along the 15 mile route ranging from puddings and pasties to chocolate and cheese, all washed down with a selection of local beers, wine and spirits. A shorter 10 mile route is also available.

The Delicious Kernow Trail is sponsored by Atkins Ferrie Wealth Management and supported by more than 20 local businesses including Camel Creek Adventure Park, The Old Mill House Bistro at Little Petherick, Padstow Kitchen Garden, Padstow Brewing Co., Padstow Farm Shop, Tregirls Holiday Cottages, Prideaux Place, Deli Farm Charcuterie, South Western Distillery, Trevone Beach Café and Trevibban Mill Vineyard.

The event is a fundraiser for CHICKS, a national children’s charity which provides disadvantaged children in the UK with free, week-long respite breaks at their retreats in Devon and Cornwall.
