Wild Futures, the environmental and conservation charity that runs the primate rescue and rehabilitation centre, The Monkey Sanctuary near Looe, held a business networking event on Thursday 25th October 2012 at The Plymouth Museum. The event was a huge success with more than 60 local businesses attending.

The evening included wine tasting with wine writer and Plymouth restaurateur Stephen Barrett, a talk from Wild Futures Director Rachel Hevesi, a short film produced on the charitys work with actor Stephen Fry, and Hayley Dann, Head of Income Generation and PR, launched Wild Futures brand new corporate pack detailing many ways for businesses to get involved in supporting the charitys work.

The event was sponsored by creative design agency Real Fusion. On the night it was announced that Real Fusion is adopting a monkey in support of Wild Futures work. The evening was also supported by Sharpham wines from Totnes and vegan canaps were supplied by Wild Catering (a Wild Futures brand).

Hayley Dann, Head of Income Generation and PR at Wild Futures stated: The evening was a great success in terms of raising awareness of our charity and need to fundraise. Many guests commented on how much it opened their eyes to the work that we do and came forward to offer their support. It is a critical year for Wild Futures as we need to generate more funds in order to meet the growing problem with the primate pet trade. We are being asked almost weekly to rescue more monkeys and many arrive at our sanctuary with complex issues, which necessitates a great deal of specialist care. Our new corporate pack offers many ways for businesses to get involved in supporting Wild Futures in a mutually beneficial way. By aligning with Wild Futures, businesses can tick both their corporate social responsibility box and show that they care about the environment at the same time.
