A Cornish performance artist is asking the county to get behind her to help achieve her dreams.
Lisa Truscott comes from Falmouth where she grew up until she was 19 attending school in Falmouth and college in Truro. She is one half of a partnership behind Bella Kinetica who are embarking on a new production that will combine circus disciplines with traditional theatrical devices.
Their current show, which is performed entirely on roller-skates and in the air, has been developed between Lisa and her business partner Jessie Rose who comes from London.
The two met at a circus skills training school in Bristol - Circus Maniacs before combining their skills to put on performances at festivals such as Glastonbury and Latitude, on cruise ships, at ski resorts and a range of corporate events.
Following their dreams, they now want to develop Bella Kinetica into a show which will be performed in Bristol and London in September, as well as toured around the country throughout 2013, bringing it to Cornwall.
To do this, they need to raise 5,000 and are utilising the website indiegogo a funding platform for creative projects to encourage crowd funding.
Lisa explains: www.indiegogo.com will enable us to share information about Bella Kinetica and ask for donations to help us develop it. Crowd funding is where individuals can make a difference, but as a crowd much more can be achieved.
We want to get the biggest crowd behind us that we can, helping us to reach our target of 5000. People can make donations from 1 upwards and we will be offering rewards to people for doing so.
Lisa continued, I am proud to be Cornish born and bred. I grew up in a county where people rally round to help each other and are proud of each others achievements.
I hope that the Cornish will be proud of me and help me to take my skills out to the rest of the country. Crowd funding is perfect for Cornwall where everyone really gets behind you.
