Hallagenna is an ancient farmstead nestled in the heart of Bodmin Moor near St Breward, yet still close to the wonderful golden beaches of North Cornwall. The beautiful open moorland that surrounds Hallagenna makes it an ideal base for a riding short break for families or friends. The traffic-free riding and varied terrain is suitable for all ages and abilities – from an adult keen to get back in the saddle, a child beginner looking to enjoy a gentle hour’s hack or lesson in the sand school or experienced trail riders seeking an exhilarating full day ride.

Hallagenna Riding aim to provide flexible breaks and holidays to ensure each rider gets the most out of their time in and out of the saddle. Having recently converted the old stables into two spacious, modern holiday cottages – accommodating up to four and six guests in each property –guests can now stay at the Farm. The riding holiday packages are designed to be flexible – guests can choose to stay on self-catering, bed and breakfast or full board basis. Food is freshly prepared in the cottage from local ingredients, or guests can choose to visit one of the excellent nearby pubs.

The riding short breaks are normally 2 to 3 days and are offered outside the peak season. Following an initial riding assessment by a friendly instructor, riders are matched with their horse. Each day includes 2 hours in the saddle, taking in some breathtaking scenery out on the moor. For more experienced riders there is even a pub lunch ride to the Old Inn in St Breward. For guests with their own horse, there is also livery accommodation so guest can bring their horse on holiday too and enjoy a change of scenery together. Longer breaks are of course available, with a week-long itinerary featuring different rides each day.

Riders and non-riders can also make the most of plenty of time to explore the wonderful scenery of North Cornwall and beyond. There is fantastic walking right on your doorstep, whilst the beautiful beaches of North Cornwall lie just 30 minutes away, including the surf beaches of Polzeath and Watergate Bay.
