Snow-covered gardens and crisp, frosty mornings. Winter can be wonderful when your house is cosy and warm. If you live off-grid and don’t have access to mains gas, now is a great time to think about alternative ways to keep your home toasty.

Fuel costs, boiler efficiency, reliability… they all matter. But what if you are looking for a clean, green and efficient way to heat your home? One that is kind to the environment… and your bank balance?

Here’s an opportunity not to be missed. The Archant publications have teamed up with Calor and Daikin to offer one lucky off-grid reader in the region the chance to win a LPG Daikin Altherma hybrid heating system installation – worth over £7,000.

This fabulous prize uses the latest renewable technology and includes an award winning air-to-water heat pump from Calor’s partner, Daikin combined with a combi boiler fuelled by LP gas.

The Daikin’s intelligent system automatically selects the right mode – using either the heat pump or boiler – depending on the weather, in order to provide maximum efficiency.

If you aren’t on mains gas, this system gives you the best of both worlds. You use the outside air as a renewable energy source but still have a trusted, on-site gas supply from the UK’s largest supplier of off-grid gas.

This Daikin Altherma Hybrid heat pump system can also help you save money. Heating bills can be reduced by up to 35% and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions can decrease by up to 30%. Even better, you can also benefit from the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme, meaning you could be paid up to £600 per year, for up to seven years just for using less gas(1).

And if that wasn’t enough, if you’re not currently using LP Gas, Calor Gas will also carry out a full conversion to LP gas, including an above-ground tank installation and gas connection for the lucky winner – everything you need to get you up and running and making the most of the latest renewable heating technology in your home.

If you’re already on LPG, a new tank will not be required, as Calor will able to install the hybrid system alongside the existing tank.

As an added extra, Calor is also offering Sahara 4.5kW table top patio heater, worth £89.99 for one runner-up, helping another lucky reader benefit from the warmth and convenience of LP gas.
