SCARECROW CRAFT AT WADEBRIDGE PRIMARY ACADEMY
PUBLISHED: 17:33 03 June 2016 | UPDATED: 12:40 30 August 2017
Pupils at Wadebridge Primary Academy have been busy making scarecrows for this year’s two nominated charities at the Royal Cornwall Show. Cancer Research UK and Cornwall Hospice Care would like to thank teachers and pupils in class 6B and class 1B for being so creative with their scarecrows which the charities will display on their stands for the scarecrow trail this year.
Pictured with the Homer Simpson’ scarecrow made by class 6B is Cancer Research UK’s Local Fundraising Manager Nikki Collins. Nikki said: “We are really looking forward to making the most of this opportunity to be at the Royal Cornwall Show and show the visitors what enormous progress we have made in the fight against cancer. Please come and see us at stand number 57 and let us take you on a virtual laboratory tour.”
Pictured with Class 1B and their scarecrow is Cornwall Hospice Care Community Fundraiser, Lindsay Opie. Lindsay said: "We feel very honoured to be such a special part of this year's show and can't thank Class 1B enough for our magnificent scarecrow. They've done us proud. As a Cornish charity we're really looking forward to sharing news of our work supporting patients with life limiting illnesses in the county, and their families. Our shop is on stand 348 and you can find out more about what we do in Cornwall and for Cornwall on our fundraising stand, which is number 21.
