Cornwall artist Jess Carr from Liskeard has helped secure an RHS silver medal for the South West Society of Botanical Artists (SWSBA).

Nine members including Jess exhibited their work at the Royal Horticultural Society’s London Orchid and Botanical Art Show at Lindley Hall, Vincent Square, Westminster.

Their exhibit Spots and Stripes was awarded a silver medal.

“The society provides a forum for excellence in botanical art throughout the South West,” says SWSBA founder Meriel Thurstan. “This award is further proof of the high standard of work produced by our members.”

The society has 125 members and exists for fellow artists to meet and exhibit and to encourage education in plant observation and conservation.
