The River Fal has been named by one company as the perfect picnic spot in Cornwall - but where is yours?
Picnics are one of the best ways to enjoy Cornwall's glorious coastal scenery - and The Nare hotel has come up with an incredible way to do it: by boat on the River Fal.
Pride of Britain Hotels offer everything from picnics prepared by a Michelin-starred chef or a spread that’s been sourced from a hotel’s kitchen garden, - and they name Cornwall's Roseland Peininsula as among their favourites in the UK.
This beautiful Cornish river – with its secluded coves, tree-lined banks and picturesque views of rolling fields – runs through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Guests staying at The Nare can enjoy a picnic lunch aboard the hotel’s classic motor launch Alice Rose’. Departing from Smuggler's Cottage, Tolverne, Alice Rose’ picnics include delicious delights such as smoked salmon, homemade bread with butter rosettes, local Cornish cheeses, Waldorf salad, fresh berries and Bakewell Tart – plus drinks from the well-stocked bar on board. A day trip with picnic aboard Alice Rose’ costs £170 for two. Stay overnight at The Nare from £283 per room (two sharing) including full English breakfast.
