Volunteers who worked at the 2013 Cornwall Spring Flower Show at Bocconoc were thanked for their efforts at a garden party hosted by Andrew Leslie, Chair of Cornwall Garden Society.

More than 100 people attended the event at Ethy House, near Lostwithiel, having helped stage and run the show – some of them giving up a week of their time to do so.

Debbie Evans, who is standing down from her role as show director after five years, handed over to Martin Pallett, and retiring committee members Alison Voelcker, Tamsin Sowerby and Melville Osborne, were also thanked for their contribution towards the show.

Andrew said: “This year’s show has been a great success despite the cold weather leading up to it. Visitor numbers were 7,500 and funds raised matched last year. Without the volunteers the show just couldn’t happen. hey make a huge contribution to the event’s success and we are incredibly grateful for their time and effort.”
