Come and Sing’ with Truro Cathedral Choir in Cornwall's Cathedral when singers from across Cornwall can join them for a performance

Come and Sing’ with Truro Cathedral Choir in Truro Cathedral on 26 April when singers from across Cornwall can join them for a rehearsal (1.15pm) and performance (5.30pm) of Five Mystical Songs by Vaughan Williams and Blessed be the God and Father by Charles Wesley.

Christopher Gray, Director of Music at the cathedral, said, “It’s not every day you get the chance to perform in the stunning surroundings of Truro Cathedral, or for that matter to perform with its prestigious choir. We have held similar events twice in the past, but it is still a very rare opportunity to sing with the boys and men of the Choir (and, in so doing, to support its tour fundraising efforts).”

He described the music by saying, “I have chosen the “Five Mystical Song” by Vaughan Williams and “Blessed be the God and Father” by Wesley because it should be possible to conquer their challenges in the single afternoon rehearsal, 1.15pm to 3.15pm. The music has lots of great tunes and is often impassioned.

We hope some people might stay on to hear the Choristers singing Evensong at 4pm. The concert performance will be at 5.30pm, and will include several items sung by the Cathedral Choir alone.”

Music scores will be provided and tickets are just £12 (students £6; under-18s free). trurocathedral.org.uk

Audience tickets to come and listen (but not sing) at 5.30pm are £5 on the door.
