The Park Mawgan Porth, Cornwalls award-winning eco holiday destination, are delighted to announce the launch of a series of inspiring breaks for 2012, ranging from yoga retreats to creative writing, craft and painting holidays.

With imaginative and beautifully designed accommodation ranging from luxurious yurts to eco cottages, silver airstreams to timber clad family houses, The Park Mawgan Porth is located in a superb woodland setting, with fantastic facilities including pools and new restaurant specialising in local produce, all just a stones throw from the sandy bay. The introduction of a series of creative breaks and relaxing retreats means that The Park will now be further inspiring your break away, giving you the opportunity to learn new skills, channel your artistic energies or simply leave the stresses and strains of modern life well behind you.

Breatheryoga will be joining forces with The Park to create a series of specially tailored Yoga and Meditation Retreats, enabling you to de-stress, re-centre and leave the everyday world behind. Four day retreats will include two daily classes incorporating Asanas, Pranayama and meditation, daily discussions covering different aspects of yoga, silent walks, chanting, brunch and evening meals. The retreats will uniquely combine all aspects of Yogic practice, from relaxation and meditation through to dynamic and restorative yoga classes.

Creative Writing Weekends at the Park will be led by London Magazine editor Steven OBrien, with options for Travel Writing and Short Story Weekends. In addition to experiencing an intensive weekend to include workshops, one to ones and an inspiring trip to St Ives, one participant will see their work published in The London Magazine and will be further mentored by Steven, with introductions to help to establish them as a published writer. Poet and writer Steven O Brien is course leader on the Creative Writing MA at the University of Portsmouth and visiting Fellow of Creative Writing at University College Chichester in addition to editing the UKs most established and respected literary journal.

The Park offers the most inspiring setting for budding artists, thus they will be introducing Watercolour Painting Courses, taught by Cornish watercolour and seascape specialist Angie Snelling. Courses are perfect for beginners or for those wanting to brush up on their skills, courses will include a series of classes teaching you the basics of working with watercolours plus field trips to the most inspiring coastal locations that you will then interpret under Angies expert guidance.

If you fancy trying your hand at traditional craft, sign up for The Parks Peg Loom or Hand Spinning courses, run by Hawthorn Fibres over four days. The spinning course will be aimed at beginners and cover the processes of how to sort a fleece through to a finished balanced skein of hand spun yarn, hand and drum carding and exploring different fibres, whist the Peg Loom course will enable participants to make their own rug using natural fibres from native British sheep using traditional techniques

A series of Holistic Courses in the Yurt Village will be run by The Back-Rub Team, Cornwall. Aromatherapy and Facial Massage Courses will enable students to acquire new therapeutic skills, teaching them to blend their own oils, compresses and scrubs in addition to mastering massage techniques, and The Park will also be running beginners courses exploring the fascinating and healing worlds of Indian Head Massage and Reflexology.

Places on our specialist courses are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. In addition, if you wish to treat someone special to an unusual and potentially life-changing gift this season, why not consider giving gift vouchers from the Park which can be ordered via the website or by calling The Park Mawgan Porth on 01637 860322.
