Ten Cornish towns and villages have seen a significant year-on-year increase in interest for 2016, according to new data from Holidaylettings.co.uk.
Jack Johnson, of the UK’s leading holiday rental website, said that in recent years there’s been a growing demand for hidden gem destinations across the whole of Cornwall.
“While places likes Newquay and St Ives continue to be as popular as ever, our statistics show that travellers are also starting to get the taste for exploring lesser-known holiday destinations.
“We’ve discovered that some destinations, such as Pendeen, Delabole and Gorran Haven have seen more than a 100% surge in year-on-year interest through holidaylettings.co.uk.”
And with demand for holiday homes in these blossoming locations at an all-time high, the message is clear that homeowners may be sitting on a potential goldmine.
“It’s a really simple process to let out your house and the income generated can be substantial, said Jack.
“If you’re a homeowner in any of these areas, you could potentially capitalise on this trend by renting out your homes to others while you’re away yourself.”
The 10 Cornish destinations that have seen a year-on-year spike in interest this year:
- Pendeen – 210%
- Delabole – 133%
- Gorran Haven – 109%
- Devoran – 108%
- Saltash – 97%
- Camborne – 78%
- Lizard – 46%
- Portcurno – 29%
- Polzeath – 27%
- Perranporth – 20%
