Annual 2014 Google trends reveals Cornwall in top five of holiday destinations

Google’s annual search statistics have revealed Cornwall as the fifth most searched-for holiday destination of 2014.

Described as a snapshot of Britain’s interests in 2014, Google’s Year of Search’ ranks Cornwall alongside the respective chart leaders, Paris and New York, and above the likes of Italy and Dubai, making it the only UK destination in the top ten.

As the top search result in many holiday related searches for Cornwall, is Cornwall’s premier destination website and has recently celebrated attracting over 3 million visits since the beginning of the year. “To be ranked fifth alongside such impressive world-wide destinations demonstrates the immense power of the Cornwall brand and highlights Cornwall’s position as a leading holiday destination,” comments Malcolm Bell, Head of Visit Cornwall. “Our highly optimised website is well placed to capture searches for Cornwall and through dynamic content and user-friendly navigation, turn that interest into bookings and visits.”
