Kate Humble welcomed the five millionth visitor to Cornwall's Lost Gardens of Heligan

Mel Wheatley, Ellen Woods and daughter Ren from Fowey had the surprise of their lives when they visited the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

The five millionth visitor to the historic gardens, they were met by TV presenter Kate Humble and presented with complimentary entry and lunch at the gardens, as well as a beautiful bouquet of freshly picked September blooms from the Flower Garden.

Heligan’s Marketing Manager Lorna Tremayne comments “Welcoming our 5 millionth visitor in such a fantastic year is a milestone that everyone at Heligan is proud to witness. Next year, we will celebrate 25 years since Tim Smit and John Nelson first started uncovering the gardens. To be here a quarter of a century later knowing how much pleasure these unique gardens have given to so many is simply heartwarming.”
