The Loft at Beach House is a delightful holiday cottage in Port Mellon, Cornwall

This enviably located lofty living space is an idyllic basefrom which to explore the picture perfect coves and calm seas of South Cornwall, located in the quiet sandy cove of Portmellon near Mevagissey and just a short drive to The Roseland Peninsula.

Turn right at the quay and your beachside holiday begins. Climb the stairs to the penthouse floor and take in the breathtaking views from the elevated position. Light, bright and airy the loft space has been cleverly transformed to create a unique holiday home from home. The living space is open plan with a galley-style kitchen. A large dining table with two pew seats is placed under the window, a wonderful space to enjoy a sunny morning breakfast. A cosy sofa offers a relaxing place to unwind whilst still enjoying those jackpot sea views.

Through the wooden latch door is the wonderful master bedroom with low double bed under the original eaves and a further quiet area with floor cushions to sit and take in the view. Adjacent to the master bedroom is a pretty bunk bedroom for children, decked out in characterful pink and blue bunting and funky cushions. A good sized bathroom offers the perfect pamper after a day on the beach.

Follow the spiral staircase down to the first floor where a large decking area offers a sunny seating area with views of the sea. The mariners in the group will enjoy the comings and goings of the traditional Cornish boatyard next door which once built boats for Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret and is now home to The Mevagissey Rowing Club. At the front of the Beach House is a lovely wooden chair and table set overlooking the beach.

Portmellon is a beautiful quintessentially Cornish cove with sandy beach and crystalclear waters, looked after by the NationalTrust. At low tide the sandy beach is aperfect safe haven for children to play andswim. There is a public slipway givingaccess to the excellent sailing waters ofMevagissey Bay.

The characterful coastal fishing village of Mevagissey is just over the hill and offers a tempting collection of places to eat from fish and chips on the quay to slap-up suppers. A collection of boutique shops and galleries are well worth a visit. Just 15 minutes' drive away, The Lost Gardens Heligan are beautiful in all seasons, a are a wonderful place for a cream tea too!

Heading down the coastline enjoy the peace and tranquility of The Roseland Peninsula or head over to the North Coast for a day trip taking in the contrasting scenery of Cornwall.
